The Cincinnati Bengals will release Andy Dalton after nine seasons with the career.

Dalton was the Bengals' primary starter since he was a second round pick in 2011. Dalton led the Bengals to the playoffs in five seasons.

The Bengals drafted Joe Burrow first overall and will supplant the 32-year-old Dalton.

The Bengals tried to trade Dalton before he was released. Dalton finished 2019 with a Total QBR of 40.1, which ranked 27th out of 30 qualifying quarterbacks

Adam Vinatieri wants to kick for an NFL team in 2020.

Vinatieri, 47, hopes to extend his career to a 25th professional season.

He's currently a free agent after spending the last 14 years with the Indianapolis Colts.

It would appear as though the Colts have moved on. They have Chase McLaughlin and Rodrigo Blankenship on their roster.

The New York Jets have been focused on adding weapons for Sam Darnold and Adam Gase hints they may not be done.

New York drafted tackle Mekhi Becton and wide receiver Denzel Mims. They also signed four offensive linemen and Breshad Perriman in free agency.

"I know everybody keeps focusing on the wide receivers, which I think is going to be a pretty good group," Gase said. "I look at our tight ends, our running backs, I feel like we're in a good spot. Who knows what will be added from here on out?"

The Kansas City Chiefs have released Dustin Colquitt.

Colquitt was the longest-tenured member of the Chiefs at 15 years.

Colquitt posted a note to his Instagram account that said in part, "I have enjoyed my time in Chiefs Kingdom, all things come to an end, sometimes sooner than you hoped ... Holding this post for 15 years has been an honor that I never took for granted. Thank you KC."

The New England Patriots didn't draft a quarterback, but that doesn't mean they've shown interest in signing Cam Newton.

Oddsmakers made the Patriots the favorite to sign the free agent after they failed to make a splash at the position last week.

New England signed two undrafted free agents over the weekend.

The Houston Texans have picked up their fifth-year option on DeShaun Watson, according to a source.

The team's goal is still to sign the quarterback to a long-term deal.

The Texans last week began to engage in "very preliminary" discussions with Watson and his representatives with more to come.

The New York Giants placed a rare unrestricted free agent tender on Markus Golden.

The "May 5" tender still allows Golden to negotiate a deal with other teams and the Giants would not receive any compensation if he signed elsewhere, but he would count toward the 2021 compensatory pick formula.

If Golden remains unsigned past July 22nd, he could only play for the Giants at $5.225 million.

Golden finished with 10 sacks last season and was perhaps the Giants' best defensive player in 2019.

The Kansas City Chiefs hope to sign both Patrick Mahomes and Chris Jones to long-term deals.

"I would like to think that we're fairly confident, and we have a lot of time," GM Brett Veach said, via an official team transcript. "(They're) cornerstones in this organization. We do have some time, and now that the draft is over, and the free agency period here with the pandemic and the virtual draft, there was certainly a lot of distractions. But now that this is behind us here, we have a window now that we can kind of reset as an organization."

The Chiefs used the non-exclusive tag on Jones this offseason.

Cam Newton may remain a free agent for the foreseeable future as he wants to sign with a team where he will start in 2020, but there aren't any starting jobs available at this time.

The Los Angeles Chargers were considered a possible landing spot for Newton, but they like Tyrod Taylor and spent the sixth overall pick ion Justin Herbert.

Newton is still just 30 years old and was the NFL MVP in 2015. Newton struggled with injuries last season.

The Seattle Seahawks are shaking up their offensive line.

Seattle is releasing center Justin Britt, according to reports, and have told right guard D.J. Fluker that he'll be released as well.

The Seahawks will clear $8.5 million in cap space with Britt and nearly $3.7 million with Fluker for a combined savings of just less than $12.2 million.
